Confessional #4

Well, 4 weeks and 30 books, and here we sit on the other end of it all. *cough* Not my quote, by the way. Got it from a book from my favorite author. But anyway, I made it! I was so happy when I realized that Oh my gosh, I sold all my books! It's really encouraging, both because yay, I made my goal!, and because it really has to do with me personally. I mean, I wrote the book I was trying to sell, and people actually wanted to read my book. I think for every author, that's really encouraging.

Before Friday, I was getting really frustrated. I had about 17 books left, and I didn't have anything left to do, or so I thought. And then, on Friday, I sold every last one of my books. I was so proud of myself.

P.S. So sorry there isn't video, for whoever cares...my computer evidently hates me and isn't accepting anything I put into my USB drive, which includes my video camera's cord. >:(

Confessional #3

This week has also gone well! I'm really doing well. I sold 13 books this week alone. That's nearly 2 books a day! Plus, I know for a fact that at least 8 more people want to buy one. That puts me down to 9, plus my family, plus a couple other places I can go...this is really going to work! I'm excited to see what I can sell next week.

Confessional #2

This week has gone really well. Surprisingly well, considering I haven't actually sold any still. I did get prepayed for one, but just got the first shipment of books on Friday afternoon. I only have 5, and all of those are promised to people already. The other 25 will most likely be sold quickly. At this point, I'm just hoping that I don't run out. I can sell maybe 10, 15 at New Tech, possibly 10, 15 at East, and a few at church, and my family will buy a couple. This is going really well. It's almost like a waterfall, rushing along so fast and going so well.

"Confessional" #1

My goal is to sell 30 copies of the novel I wrote. This follows all of the adjectives in the "SMART" acronym, as I explain in the video. This is important to me because I want to donate the money to Writer's Club, which is a good cause, but also because I just really want to get this sold. I've uploaded the novel to CreateSpace, the self-publishing company I use to get the novels, and so I should be able to order copies soon. I haven't used any outside help yet. One time when I felt frustrated was trying to get it formatted just right so it could be printed in a 6 by 9 inch book. Apparently, the way I had it wouldn't work because it didn't scale correctly. So I had to change the size of the pages. At the beginning of working on it I definitely felt motivated. I got all 42 chapters reformatted in a day. And, yeah! This project, if it goes well, will probably be my favorite. :)
